This gallery represents a month spent away from the hordes, deep in the Mt Baker, WA backcountry and a little taste of the snow that continues to fall at Eaglecrest, AK. From the first weekend of November and light snow atop light coverage to the deep, stable days mid-month, and the wind-scoured alpine of late November, it's a look at a month in which we returned to the mountains to find our legs, some turns and the company of close friends--and proof that any day in the mountains is a good one... no matter how variable it may be.

Thanks for including me in the early season. The shot of Larrabee is actually a sunrise! That's what I get when the conversation with Burki starts with "What time is first light?"
