Ask DCP and Win with The North Face, YES.NOWBOARD, and frequency TSJ

Posted by: Colin / added: 11.05.2010 / Back to What Up

After reading the DCP profile in frequency TSJ #8.2, you may be left with a few questions for the French-Canadian-transition-specialist turned Squamish-based-backcountry-destroyer. Well, here’s your chance to ask DCP a few follow up questions—and your chance to win some gear from The North Face, YES.NOWBOARD, and frequency TSJ.

Specifically, you have until November 21, 2010 to submit your question either here in the comments section of our blog (be sure to enter a valid email address when commenting) or by joining our facebook page and commenting on the Ask DCP post. At the end of the month, we will pick five user-generated questions and DCP will answer them personally.

But that’s not all: of the five selected questions, one lucky individual will walk away with luggage from The North Face, another will receive a snowboard from YES, and the other three will take home a frequency TSJ prize package.

So put fingers to keyboard and submit your questions today—now’s your chance to ask DCP.

Frenglish

Hello DCP,

What do you think of the trend (or perhaps, necessity) of snowboarders of Francophone descent having to invent new spellings and acronyms for their names? Is this no big deal? If you had not embraced your acronym, do you think it would have limited your career? I feel like this might be a big deal in Quebec, considering the battle to maintain the sanctity of francais and such, and am interested to hear what you think.

:)

Hello!

Do you think that more money should be put into the snowboarding ramps and other snowboarding props in the ski resorts or do you think that more snowboarders should embrace snowboarding off the beaten path?
Posted by jo evans on Nov 9th, 2010 @ 7:16 pm

Oh Yeah!

What's your fave in Colorado?
Posted by Sam on Nov 9th, 2010 @ 9:22 pm

Question

What are your thoughts on the impacts of projects like 'My Own Two Feet' and 'Deeper?' Will we start to see a greater number of riders throughout the industry trading in snowmobiles for splitboards? Or will we just see a divide form amongst filming companies, with some focusing solely on human-powered endeavors and others sticking with heli's and snowmobiles for accessing terrain in the backcountry?

Question for DCP

Tested the Dudes the other day and loved it. Is the equipment you use exactly the same as what we buy from the retailers or do you have custom gear made that looks similar?
Posted by Mark Fitzgerald on Nov 14th, 2010 @ 1:57 pm

Question for DCP

My question for DCP: How do you feel about the commercialization of your name? More specifically, do you like the fact that you have been crafted and branded as "DCP" throughout your snowboarding career, rather than being David Carrier-Porcheron? Do you think that this "branding" of you has influenced or affected your career in any way?

Keep rippin'. You're the man.

Favorite Way 2 Get There & Ride

David, as far as backcountry goes, what's your preferred/favorite way of getting there, heli, sledding, splitboarding, or maybe even a combo or something else?
Posted by bart on Nov 26th, 2010 @ 11:21 am

?

As you are a 'rad dad' yourself, i'd like to ask you: what to you think is a good age for children to start snowboarding?
Do you think it might be better for them to learn skiing first?
Can't wait for my little boy to go shred with me. Thanks! B.
