Mark Gallup has documented the subtle hues of snowboarding for over two decades. For this issue he scoured his slides and selected some favorite images, each telling their own thousand-word story. Starting with a beautiful freeze-frame in Bella Coola a few seasons back, and progressing through black-and-whites of old school pioneers Evan Feen and Alex Warburton -- to modern pioneers like Shin Campos, this visual continuum provides a wide-angle view of snowboarding's Canadian influence and its rich international history.
